HFW hires Kimberly Perryman as new Human Resources VP

The HFW Companies (HFW) has announced the appointment of Kimberly Perryman, SPHR, as vice president of human resources (HR) for this fast-growing professional services firm with a national focus on the architecture and engineering industry (AE).

Perryman, based in Dallas, Texas, not only will oversee the firm’s expanding HR operations, but she also will provide HR and recruiting guidance for HFW’s growing network of HFW Partner firms across HFW’s national footprint, according to Michael Hein, AIA, chief executive officer of HFW.

“As we continue to grow aggressively at HFW and among our partner firms, we believe it was time to bring on board a seasoned HR leader with a depth of experience in systematically building and retaining strong teams and cultures,” said Hein, who started HFW in 2020 with co-founders Matthew Westphal and Daniel Forguson. “KP has that kind of knowledge and experience, and her entrepreneurial enthusiasm no-doubt will energize the HFW team and inspire our partner firms in their own efforts to recruit and retain top talent.”

Holding certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Perryman has more than 15 years of experience as an HR and talent management executive. Previously, she served as vice president of people at Palo Alto, Calif.-based tech company Virtana.

Perryman joins a growing team at HFW whose goal, Hein said, is to invest in a growing network of middle-market architecture and engineering firms serving metropolitan infrastructure markets with strong legacy brands and growth potential.

To date, HFW has built a portfolio of nine strategic partner firms with a combined 500-plus employees and collective 2023 annual revenues that put HFW at No. 242 in Engineering News Record’s annual Top 500 ranking of the largest AEC companies.

“That kind of rapid growth requires a more robust investment in human capital, from innovative recruitment and staff management systems to employee development and creative retention strategies,” Hein said. “We’re excited to see KP lead that effort on behalf of HFW and all our partner firms.”
