HFW adds Andrew Hager, P.E., to corporate operations team

ST. LOUIS – The HFW Companies (HFW) has announced the appointment of engineering operations veteran Andrew Hager, P.E., LEED-AP, as a director of operations for this fast-growing professional services firm with a national focus on the architecture and engineering industry (AE).

Hager, based in St. Louis, has been hired to provide additional support to HFW’s corporate operations department in guiding the firm’s growing national network of HFW Partner firms to improve operational efficiencies, reduce costs, set strategic goals, bolster education and training, and foster greater collaboration among partner firms, according to Scott Williams, P.E., vice president of operations at HFW.

“As we continue to grow our network of AE partner firms and our footprint across the country, we needed to expand our operations team with additional leadership to support our collective growth and keep the momentum going,” Williams said. “Andy Hager, with his 28 years of experience in the AE industry, has a strong operations background that will bring additional expertise and bandwidth to our team in tackling our strategic growth initiatives. It’s a great opportunity for HFW.”

Hager’s most recent professional roles include director of operations, department manager, engineering group leader, and discipline leader, among other related AE leadership positions. A graduate of the University of Missouri, Columbia, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Hager holds professional engineering licenses in Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Arkansas, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. He also is a certified LEED-AP.

Hager joins a fast-expanding team at HFW whose goal, Hein said, is to build a preeminent network of AE legacy partners that provides a gateway to accelerated growth while also leveraging the network’s collaborative expertise to better serve clients and their infrastructure design projects across HFW’s national footprint.

To date, HFW has built a portfolio of nine strategic partner firms with a combined total of more than 500 employees and collective 2023 annual revenues that put HFW at No. 242 in Engineering News Record’s latest annual Top 500 ranking of the largest AEC companies.

“We’ve made tremendous strides since HFW’s inception in 2020 in building our company and HFW Partner Network into a national AE powerhouse,” said Michael Hein, AIA, CEO of HFW and a co-founder of HFW with Matthew Westphal and Daniel Forguson. “The recent addition of Andrew and other experienced leaders helps to ensure that we can continue to effectively align our partner firms for greater collaboration and remain successful in our trajectory for collective growth in the AE industry.”
